If you love the iconic Spanish dance of the Flamenco, you will love this. And if you’ve never seen flamenco danced to perfection, please go along—you are in for a treat.
After more than ten years of successful flamenco performances in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the passionate and penetrating voices of musicians Danielo Olivera and Inma Montero bring you their vision of a traditional Flamenco Tablao.
Accompanied by a technically brilliant master flamenco guitarist and with two powerful and elegant dancers, Gabriela Pouso and Mayte Beltran, this is a masterclass in the art of the flamenco.
Apparently, flamenco artists only choose the dance or song they are to perform ten minutes before they go on stage, lending a freshness to their performance and allowing the passion to come from the heart.
Both dancers are incredible and the singing and guitar playing take you away from the hottest and most uncomfortable venue at the Fringe to the heart of Andalucia.
A must see for anyone who loves Spanish culture and the skills of dance. But take a fan with you and a large bottle of water.

Great show by an amazing team of musicians and dancers. The authenticity of the real flamenco. Very elegant dancer. Powerful taconeo. The beautiful voice of the female singer is joined to the husky voice of her colleague. The results is perfect for reminding us the great Camaron de la Isla. The talented guitarist and composer makes you feel each piece as an unique hidden gem.
Strongly recommend. This show will transport you right to Cadiz and Granada. Close your eyes and you would feel like in an Albaicon cave.

Guapo, fantastico! Great show, wonderful dance and music, one if the best events I’ve see this year.
I always enjoy Inma and Danielo’s singing and never more so than here. Accompanied by the wonderfully talented Dani Martinez on the guitar and two excellent dancers, they soar to great heights. We’re so lucky that we can see and hear them here in Edinburgh all year round as TuFlamenco. Yes, four out of the five performers are based here in Edinburgh! Don’t make that an excuse to miss them though. Make sure you go. Just remember to bring a fan (no, not to join in the dance, but to try and keep cool).
A fantastic and memorable show: incredibly high standards of musicianship and dancing that conveyed passion, longing, joy and sadness so eloquently and powerfully. Strongly recommended – I hope to see them again

Amazing show!
I’ve not seen flamenco like this before: improvised, daring and unique! One guitar (incredible musician), two singers and two fantastic dancers. A very intimate 1 hour which made you at times hold your breath and was so passionate and beautiful I saw more than one audience member she’d a tear.
Highly recommended!

Brilliant! Loved every second. My only criticism is of myself and the audience for not getting up and shouting and cheering our appreciation of these wonderful artistes. Why are we so reserved? Should be compulsory glasses of rioja to remove our inhibitions beforehand. Loved it can’t wait to see it again!

Wonderful show combining spectacular dancing, passionate singing and brilliant guitar playing.

A very enjoyable fusion of Flamenco and Bossa Nova. The talented group of Spanish, Portuguese and Brazilian musicians, most of whom are based here in Edinburgh, deserve a bigger audience than the one we were in. It may be on late in the evening, but it’s well worth the effort!

Very talented performers – a hidden gem! Really good musicianship and dancing. Truly beautiful singing voices too. I was really moved by chega de saudade especially. This is a great chance to hear (and see!) two different genres done by people who really know how to do them! And the fusion works well, I’m pleased to report.
Also, they are really lovely people – very charming and funny!

We enjoyed the earlier show, Flamenco Tablao, so much that we returned the same evening to see FlamencoNova, and were delighted with this performance too. Another stunning display if virtuosic singing, dancing and playing, with performers from Spain and Brazil. Beautiful, passionate, soulful and engaging. Strongly recommended!

I couldn’t stop to sing, dance (and cry) during this show. Is a delicious mixture with the best flavour of flamenco, bossa-nova (obviously haha) but with African influences, with a taste of samba, Iberian and Latin-American roots. Is a whole journey in one show. I already saw another shows from Tu Flamenco but this one is a whole new experience.

This show is quite brilliant – flamenco with a twist. Fantastic musicians and singers , a mesmerising dancer making utterly compelling shapes with hands and feet and a flamenco guitar player whose fingers almost literally flew off the strings with the speed and dexterity of his playing. Great chemistry between the group drawing the audience in. Plus a musical dance in tribute to a Brazilian water goddess.what more could you ask for? A refreshingly different late night treat worth staying up for or as a starter for an Edinburgh all nighter!

The fusion between two seemingly different types of music is achieved perfectly by skilled musicians. The rythms of Bossa Nova and Flamenco make you tap your feet and want more, and the flamenco dancing turns this show into a true work of art. This was certainly one of the best shows I saw on this year’s Fringe!

Does this actually work? It most definitely does!!! It seems experimental but there are beautifully crafted songs that leave enough room for the artists to bounce off each other and add their own adornments to the pieces. I know this because I had to see this show more than once and it was slightly different each time. Each musician/dancer/singer is supremely talented with an obvious respect for what each other brings to the band. There are many points in the show that leave you captivated and astonished at what you are hearing, and I can’t wait to hear more!

Beautiful, breathtaking and bewitching! A seamless combination of flamenco and bossanova! A must-see, the group should be very proud to represent flamenco in Edinburgh

What a wonderful surprise! This show is somewhat late in the evening, but it’s well worth the effort! A fusion between the warmth of Flamenco and the coolness of Bossa Nova, you will not help but smiling and swinging your body to sound of these talented musicians and dancers. If you enjoy good music you will not santa to miss it!

FlamencoNova produced by Tuflamenco at theSpace Triplex is a genuine excursion into the world of Flamenco and Bossa Nova. In the caldron that is Triplex in Hill Place (British Theatre Guide called it the hottest venue at the Fringe) to a degree added to the atmosphere of what is a great introduction to the Brazilian culture.
With singers Sergio Prazeres, Danielo Olivera and Inmaculada Montero we capture the intensity of expression of the language and range and at times flamenco dancer Mayte Beltran adds to the visuals on a tiny stage but dominating the scene. The overall effect is stunning with multi-guitarists strumming, picking and mesmerising with hands a blur.
Additional sax by Nick Gould is a bonus and adds to the Bossa Nova but I was left begging at the omission of that most iconic of pieces (Girl From Ipanema) given the talent and instruments on stage and just a month after the death of Brazilian guitarist and composer João Gilberto.
