Flamenconova

FlamencoNova was one of TuFlamenco’s two productions presented at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2019, a show that transported audiences into a captivating fusion of bossa nova and flamenco. The mesmerising soundscape emerged from the meeting of an impeccably skilful flamenco guitar with the rich, soulful spirit of bossa nova—an encounter that unfolded through the exquisite voices of Sérgio Prazeres, Danielo Olivera, and Inmaculada Montero.

This ensemble of outstanding musicians was completed by the magnificent flamenco dancer Mayte Beltrán, whose presence elevated the performance with elegance, depth, and rhythmic power. Alongside her, the sensual jazz lines of saxophonist Nick Gould added a distinctive colour, weaving both worlds into a single vibrant pulse. Together, they shaped a radiant, life-affirming experience—an uplifting blend of music and dance that audiences remembered as a true catharsis of joy and an electrifying celebration of artistic connection.

Today, FlamencoNova lives on as a project in active development, and we are currently working on a new revised version of the production. This upcoming adaptation aims to refresh and expand the original concept while preserving the essence that made the show so unforgettable.
