Privacy Policy

TuFlamenco (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a flamenco school and performance company based in Edinburgh, offering classes, workshops and concerts across Scotland. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through tuflamenco.com and our bookings, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

TuFlamenco Ltd (“TuFlamenco”) is led by Inma Montero and Danielo Olivera. For the purposes of this policy, TuFlamenco Ltd is the data controller responsible for your personal data. You can contact us at info@tuflamenco.com.

2. What personal data we collect

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number or WhatsApp number
  • Billing details needed to process a course or ticket payment (handled securely by our payment provider, Stripe)
  • Details you include in an enquiry, such as which course, class location or event you are asking about
  • Technical data such as IP address and browser information, collected automatically through cookies and analytics tools (see our Cookie Policy)

We do not ask for or store your card details ourselves; all card payments are processed directly by Stripe.

3. How we collect your data

  • When you fill in our website contact form
  • When you enquire about, book, or pay for a class, course, workshop or concert ticket
  • When you sign up to our mailing list or newsletter
  • When you message us directly by email or WhatsApp
  • When you submit an enquiry through a Facebook or Instagram Lead Ad (see Section 5 below)

4. Why we use your data

  • Responding to enquiries about our flamenco classes, courses, workshops, private hires and concerts
  • Processing bookings and payments for classes, courses and concert tickets
  • Administering your enrolment, including contacting you about timetables, term dates or changes to a class or event
  • Sending our newsletter, only where you have opted in, with information about new courses, workshops and upcoming performances
  • Meeting our legal and accounting obligations, such as keeping records of payments

Our legal basis for processing this data is your consent (for example, newsletter sign-ups), the need to fulfil a contract with you (for example, a course enrolment or ticket purchase), or our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you have made to us.

5. Meta (Facebook & Instagram) Lead Ads

We sometimes run lead generation adverts on Facebook and Instagram (Meta platforms) to promote our courses and services. If you submit your details through one of these lead forms, the personal information you provide (such as your name, email address and phone number) may be collected and processed by TuFlamenco for the purpose of responding to your enquiry about our courses, classes or services.

Meta acts as a technology platform for the collection of this information; TuFlamenco is the data controller for any personal data submitted through these forms, and handles it in line with this Privacy Policy. We do not use it beyond responding to your enquiry and any related follow-up, unless you separately opt in to our newsletter.

6. Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including for analytics and embedded content. Full details of the cookies and tracking technologies we use, and how you can manage your preferences, are set out in our separate Cookie Policy.

7. How long we keep your data

  • Enquiries (contact form, WhatsApp, Meta Lead Ads) that do not lead to a booking: kept for up to 12 months, then deleted
  • Enrolment and booking records: kept for as long as you remain a student or ticket holder, and for a further 6 years afterwards to meet our accounting and legal obligations
  • Newsletter sign-ups: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you
  • Payment records held by Stripe: retained in line with Stripe’s own retention policy

8. Who we share your data with

We never sell or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We only share personal data with trusted service providers who help us run our courses, bookings and website, including:

  • Stripe — to process card payments for classes and tickets
  • Mailchimp — to send our newsletter, if you have opted in
  • Our website hosting and email-delivery providers, who help us run tuflamenco.com and deliver enquiry emails securely

These providers only process your data on our instructions and are required to keep it secure. We may also disclose data where required by law.

9. Children’s data

Some of our classes (such as Flamenkids) are for children. Where a child enrols in a class, we collect enquiry and booking details from the parent or guardian, not the child directly, and treat that data with the same care as any other personal data described in this policy.

10. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Ask us what personal data we hold about you, and request a copy of it
  • Ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Ask us to delete your data (“right to be forgotten”), where we are not required to keep it for legal or accounting reasons
  • Withdraw consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from our newsletter
  • Object to how we process your data, or ask us to restrict processing
  • Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been mishandled

11. Contact us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, or want to exercise any of the rights above, please contact us at info@tuflamenco.com.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Any updates will be posted on this page.
