Conceived as a platform dedicated to bringing flamenco to younger audiences, the production FlamenKids served as the creative engine behind the Flamenco4Children initiative, driving its development and artistic outreach. Within this framework, FlamenKids returned to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2025, reinforcing its mission to introduce children to the vibrant world of flamenco.
Since its successful premiere in 2022, this unique project delighted families year after year, captivating audiences at the Fringe in 2023, 2024 and again in 2025. Each edition was completely redesigned, transforming the show entirely from one year to the next, ensuring that every season offered a fresh and surprising experience for children and their families.
Designed to spark curiosity and joy, this interactive production became an ideal introduction to Spanish culture and the art of flamenco. For young music or dance enthusiasts, it provided a rare opportunity to experience something both educational and exhilarating. Through rhythm, dance movements, clapping, guitar, singing, castanets, percussion, and language expressions, children were immersed in a rich sensory experience that was as fun as it was culturally enriching.
Featuring a cast of 10 professional artists, this original, passionate, and highly dynamic production delivered vibrant flamenco while engaging directly with the wee ones in the audience. Thoughtfully crafted for all ages and stages, FlamenKids became a joyful, high-energy celebration of music, movement, and connection.
